Innovation
This fashion class is hands-down, the best class I’ve ever taken in my undergraduate career. It’s easy to make fun of fashion majors and fashion teachers, but they are highly underrated. While I’ve learned a copious amount of knowledge through my science courses, none of them have encouraged me to be creative. In the real world, we will be asked to answer open-ended questions, to live in the gray, and to be innovative. I’m learning so much about branding myself, about etiquette, about visuals and scents—and I’m in love with it!
I’m not exactly sure how this small, 3-credit hour class will help me in my future, but I’ve have a gut feeling that it will make a difference. In the words of Steve Jobs, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect the dots looking backwards.”
